Britain’s Got Talent 2017 finalist Daliso Chaponda has announced his first ever UK tour. The comedian, who was also judge Amanda Holden’s golden buzzer act, will take his What The African Said… tour across the UK, having captured the hearts of the nation over the course of the show, now celebrating over 8 million Facebook views and 9 million on YouTube.

“…Laughter is how I cope with pain. I have seen and experienced some horrible things but laughter helped me cope,” says Malawian born Chaponda. “Telling jokes is repaying the favor. This show is my thanks to the laughter.”

The 31 date tour will kick off in Nottingham on the 8 February 2018, and run until the 27 April at Edinburgh’s Queens Hall. Chaponda has also recently been confirmed for his own Radio 4 series, Daliso Chaponda: Citizen of Nowhere.

Chaponda has previously worked as a journalist and newsreader in countries that forbid criticism against the government. He has turned this frustration into comedy, discussing recent news, old news, fake news, and stores that were never quite but were almost news. It is also a show about the things we say to each other; gossip, tall stories and of course declarations of love.
