Get ready to welcome loud and proud comedian Margaret Cho this winter. She’ll be performing stand-up gigs across the country as part of her Fresh off the Bloat tour.

“This is my sickest show to date,” says Cho. “My grandmother said, ‘You look like bloated as if you’ve been found dead in a lake after several days of searching.’ Koreans are the most savage of all the Asians.”

The five-time Grammy and Emmy nominee hasn’t been in the UK since her psyCHO tour. Named after her 2015 comedy television special, it was about spreading laughter to combat insanity in a world dominated by news of racism and violence towards women.

Cho is a woman of many talents. She released American Myth, an album of anthems paying tribute to family, comedy, anger, fame, gayness, grief, fat pride, love and hate, in early 2016. The follow-up to Cho Dependent, it was her first collection of new music in six years. Last year Cho joined E!’s Fashion Police which has allowed her to cover all of the biggest awards shows while commenting on celebrity fashion.

Cho is thrilled to be returning to the world of stand-up and is hitting the road with a fresh, snarky outlook as well as brand new material.

“My new show is all about being fresh off drugs and drinking and suicide and coming back to life – finally fished out of the river Styx. It’s meta. It’s magical. It’s me,” she says.

Here are those dates:

25 November – Queens Hall, Edinburgh
28 November – Glee Club, Birmingham
30 November – Lowry, Salford
1 December – O2 Academy, Sheffield
2 December – Concert Hall, Brighton
10 December – O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London

Tickets for tour go on sale at 10:00 on Friday 21 July 2017 at Ticketmaster.co.uk.
