Barack Obama as President of Playlists? Yes, please!

After a recent visit to Sweden, President Barack Obama joked that after his presidency he was hoping for a job at streaming giant Spotify. And they replied perfectly.

Spotify CEO and founder Daniel Ek tweeted on Monday that he heard about Obama’s interest in a job and he’d have the perfect pick – President of Playlists!

If you read through the job specs it is clear there’s only one fit for the role that requires “at least eight years’ experience running a highly-regarded nation” as well as “a friendly and warm attitude, and a Nobel Peace Prize.”

Obama is famously known for his many supporters from the music industry including Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce & Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar who just last year performed at the President’s 55th birthday party. Another trait that will help him secure the position that asks for “good relationships with a wide range of artists and musicians. Ever had Kendrick Lamar play at your birthday bash? We’d love to hear about it!”

Barack Obama has become well known for sharing his playlists via the White House Spotify account including The President’s 2016 Summer Playlist with tunes like Aretha Franklin’s Rock Steady or The Beach Boys’ Good Vibrations.

Spotify’s reaction comes after Natalia Brzezinski, wife of former US ambassador to Sweden, posted a photo on Instagram from an Ambassadors dinner at the Whitehouse quoting the president declaring: “I’m still waiting for my job at Spotify… Cuz’ I know y’all loved my playlist.”

Tonight President Obama invited all of the Ambassadors he personally chose to an intimate reception at the White House. I finally got the chance to thank him for the life-changing appointment to Sweden. He said word for word: “I loved visiting you in Stockholm, it was my favorite trip. I plan to go back there really soon.” I told him I have the perfect opportunity for him to come visit and he told me “to send him the details on Brilliant Minds.” He also declared– “I’m still waiting for my job at Spotify… Cuz’ I know y’all loved my playlist.” I am still swooning. 😂😂😍🌟🌟 @barackobama @whitehouse ❤️. @symposiumsthlm So proud of Mark for serving this historic President with all his heart!! 🙏🏻🇺🇸

With these skills and the support of wife Michelle Obama and Vice-President Joe Biden (both have contributed playlists to the account) we see no trouble in Barack getting the job. Check their playlists out here.
