Groundbreaking British electronic duo Orbital returned in 2017 for a series of festival appearances, including at Bluedot, Forbidden Fruit and a forthcoming headline slot at this year’s Standon Calling on Friday 28 July 2017.

The pair have also announced two major headline UK shows towards the end of the year, taking to the O2 Apollo in Manchester on the 1 December 2017, and the Hammersmith Apollo in London on the 2 December 2017.

Gearing up for these live shows, Orbital have unveiled their first new track since returning to the scene, Copenhagen. Featuring a vocal samples from Lisa Knapp, the track is in equal parts minimalist and forceful, a combination which the brothers have perfected over their near thirty year career.

“I’ve been enjoying playing and developing this track playing it out,” says Phil Hartnoll. “We thought it would make a great little reunion present to our fans.”

Paul adds: “It just felt like the right track to try out and we are now ready to release it as a taste of things to come. It felt like an emotional opening with a hopeful feel to start this new chapter of Orbital in these strange and uncertain times. Let’s all just chill the fuck out and enjoy the summer!”

As well as Copenhagen, Orbital have been busy recording during breaks in their live schedule, utilising their own studio in Brighton. An album is expected by the end of this year, or early 2018.

Here are those headline dates:

1 December – O2 Apollo, Manchester
2 December – Hammersmith Eventim Apollo, London
