The line-up for this year’s Big Weekend is now complete! Manchester Pride have just announced that Example and DJ Wire are among the final additions for the highly anticipated event, taking place from 25 – 28 August. They’re joining headliners Clean Bandit, Melanie C, Blonde and Liberty X, along with a whole host of brilliant acts.

Rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer extraordinaire, Example (real name Elliot Gleave, shown above) has five successful albums under his belt, with a sixth one underway. He’s bringing DJ Wire, his tour DJ and friend, to perform some of the huge bangers he’s beloved for. The pair have collaborated on tracks including Not So Pretty as well as the Ministry of Sound compilation Example and DJ Wire Present the Playlist.

Two other additions to The Big Weekend line-up are Australian singer-songwriter Starley and electro-pop fivesome Yes Lad.

Plus, Manchester Pride organisers have also announced the addition of a secret space – a mystery area accessed via a secret door. On Saturday and Sunday it will host a silent disco while on Monday it will be transformed into a sing-along cinema, screening favourites such as Frozen and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Chief Executive for Manchester Pride Mark Fletcher said, “It’s great to add even more world-class artists to our line-up, and as yesterday marked the anniversary of the royal of ascent of the 1967 sexual offences act, it’s humbling to see so many different types of performers showing their support for LGBT+ people by appearing at The  Big Weekend, helping us to mark such an important celebration in the city.”

Don’t miss out on what’s sure to be the best Pride celebration ever! Tickets for 2017’s The Big Weekend are on sale now at Ticketmaster.co.uk.
