Five things we loved most about Electric Daisy Carnival 2016
Unlucky enough to miss out on Electric Daisy Carnival earlier this month? Our top five highlights will not only make you green with envy, but make sure you are first in line for 2017 tickets.
1. A main stage to rival all main stages
Standing at a giant 30 meters tall and 70 meters wide, this was the first view we had of the festival site on arrival. Always wondered what a stage with a smoke -breathing dragon and functional waterfall looked like? We did too, and needless to say it was amazing. The cherry on the EDM pie? The A-grade talent that graced the Owl’s booth.
2. Rides galore
If great music and exploring an awesome festival site wasn’t enough to excite your senses, the exhilarating rides swinging and flipping around the stages were. With lines that were rarely quiet, these carnival additions to the festival experience only enhanced the overall day theme.
3. Food, glorious food
With festival food usually being a hit or miss, it’s fair to say EDC 2016 knocked it out of the ball park. With options from delicious burgers, to healthier and tailored meal options, there really was something for everyone. A personal favourite was the freshly cooked donuts with ice cream and chocolate. Yum.
4. The VIP Experience
With a raised platform overlooking the main stage and the option to upgrade to the comfort of lounges in the same area, this was the perfect placement of a section for the punter who prefers a little more luxury with their festival experience. With bathroom and bar access at your fingertips, as well as a number of food and seating options, the VIP area proved to be the perfect hub for a touch of festival extravagance.
5. An EDM lover’s dream line-up
And if the above wasn’t enough, the line-up was an electronic music lovers dream. Dance legends Eric Prydz, Axwell & Ingrosso and Avicci (for his last ever London performance, no less) graced the main stage bringing with them their unmistakable signature sounds. The Dutch showed up in force with Don Diablo, Martin Garrix and Oliver Heldens to turn the speakers up, and finally, local legends Andy C, DJ EZ and Sigma showed that the UK produce the best in the industry.
