Flick’s fresh music picks: new bands to catch on tour

It’s time for my next music fix, so here are a few bands that I think you should be keeping your eyes on when they tour the UK this April and May.

Fickle Friends
I came across these guys when they were supporting Saint Raymond last month. Warm, tropical, upbeat synths – they’ll transport you to a far-away, sunshine paradise in a heartbeat. I was blown away by their live show, and haven’t stopped listening to their studio tracks since. Luckily, their UK headline tour kicks off in May – but don’t just have to take my word for it, go see them!

Cure For The Night - Feldspar

Feldspar
A refreshing fusion of folk and indie; the more I listen to Feldspar, the more I realise that they are never short of a catchy riff. Not to mention their share of uplifting harmonies. Fortunately for us, they’re releasing a new EP and having a launch party on Thursday 16 April at The Garage, London. If you’re a bit further North than that, head to their show at The Courthouse in Otley. See you there!

Shannon Saunders
Shannon Saunders has a voice that you can’t help but become fully absorbed in. Factor in her stylish edge, and she’s a certified star in the making. Her sound ranges from deep, darker songs, to livelier acoustic videos. Her penchant for variety – while occasionally dipping into spoken word pieces – keeps her music exciting, leaving listeners wanting to know what she’ll be up to next. I’ve not seen her live yet, but if you’re heading to The Great Escape Festival in May, make sure you do!
