New Music Friday: Frank Carter, AFI and more release new music

It’s our favourite time of the week – New Music Friday is the new release fix you need to get your weekend started. This week we’ll be listening to Frank Carter, AFI, Loyle Carner and more.

What’s even better about New Music Friday is that you can also listen to a lot of the new music live. We’ve also found the artists who’ve got new records out and are about to take them on tour. Double win!

Frank Carter - Modern Ruin
Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes –  Modern Ruin

We’ll start your #NewMusicFriday off with punk from Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and their new record Modern Ruin. Former Gallows and Pure Love frontman Frank Carter returned to his punk rock roots with 2015’s debut album Blossoms. Following it up with this, the record is dynamic, explosive and most of all it appears as though Frank Carter has found himself. About the record he tweeted: “Feel like I’ve been waiting for this record for a lifetime.” And it was definitely worth the wait. You can catch him live on tour in March, with tickets via Ticketmaster.co.uk, and get your hands on a copy of his new album via our shop.

AFI – The Blood Album
AFI – AFI (The Blood Album)

The Californian rockers set a milestone with their tenth studio album out today. The self-titled album is also referred to as The Blood Album – stemming from the albums cover image which features drops of blood. The album feels at times like an homage to their long career and their origins. The future looks bright for AFI as they’ll be supporting rock legends Deftones on their UK tour in May and we have a few tickets left here.

Loyle Carner – Yesterday’s Gone
Loyle Carner – Yesterday’s Gone

It’s finally here! The long-awaited debut album by British rap artist Loyle Carner drops today and it’s everything we’d hoped for. Described by the NME as “sensitive and eloquent”, Loyle’s sound looks towards a new direction for rap: modest, personal and non-accusatory. After his first hit-single BFG, dedicated to his late stepfather, his album now offers a more in-depth look into the mind of Loyle Carner. If this sounds like your cup of tea, don’t miss him on his UK tour next month with last remaining tickets on sale via Ticketmaster.co.uk.

Menace Beach - Lemon Memory
Menace Beach –  Lemon Memory

Leeds-based five piece indie band Menace Beach have just released a follow-up to their debut album Ratworld. Lemon Memory is nothing if not unexpected – the sound ranges from poppy tunes to grunge riffs and is a lot less night club influenced than their debut album. Get your hands on a copy of the album in our shop and why not see them live throughout the UK in just two weeks’ time. Tickets available with our friends at ticketweb.co.uk

Foxygen – Hang
