New Track: Glass Peaks – Speak and Spell

Glass Peaks celebrate the release of their second song, Speak and Spell, by sharing it with us as part of our new Track series on Ticketmaster.

Founded just a little over a year ago, the four-piece from Kent are fast becoming one of the south east’s hottest new indie band with features on BBC Radio and more. They’re releasing their newest single Speak and Spell on 27 January and we’ve had a cheeky listen.

Speak and Spell is the kind of song you can see a crowded room chanting along to, especially with lead singer Lewis’ intensely eerie vocals and the haunting guitar riffs. The track also shows hints of influences by greats like Depeche Mode and Joy Division.

Taking further inspiration from the likes of The Smiths, The Maccabees, Ben Howard and more, their self-proclaimed “melancholic alt-pop” is dynamic, catchy and a full-scale wall of sound. Their first single Your Eyes clearly defined where the band was headed, and from what we can tell, that way is only upwards.
