Slaves have been added to House of Common Festival

Suggs joined the duo on stage at Community Festival to make the announcement.

Tunbridge Wells punk duo Slaves have been added to House of Common Festival, curated and headlined by Madness. Madness frontman Suggs joined the band on stage at Community Festival in Finsbury Park on Saturday to reveal the news.

Slaves first made a name for themselves back in 2012, having since released albums Are You Satisfied? and Take Control. They secured a Mercury Music Prize nomination in 2015, as well as nods by the likes of NME and Q. They played Glastonbury Festival late last month to critical acclaim, as well as welcoming Stormzy onto the stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend.

Slaves join the already confirmed De La Soul, General Levy, Toddla T, Dawn Penn, Nadia Rose, Craig Charles, Hackney Colliery Band, Soul II Soul, Norman Jay, Dennis Bovell, Sherwood & Pinch, Mungos HIFI, Venum Sound, and very special guests The Skatalites.

House of Common will also host the Minor Madness Presents Rave-A-Roo Garden Party, making the event ideal for fans of all ages.

The festival will take place at Clapham Common on Monday 28 August 2017.
