Stormzy celebrates some serious chart success

Stormzy claims the UK album top spot after a week long battle with Rag’n’Bone Man.

Stormzy has retained his midweek position to walk away with a UK No.1 album, having released Gang Signs and Prayer last Friday.

According to the Official Charts Company, he claims the top spot with combined sales of 69,000, pipping Rag’n’Bone Man to the post following a week long battle.

“It hasn’t sunk in yet,” he told Official Charts. “Honestly, I wish I could take every person who bought and streamed the album out with me, have dinner with them, dedicate a whole night to them. I don’t take your support for granted. I can’t thank you enough.”

He also celebrates six tracks in the Official Top 40 singles chart, with Big For Your Boots at No.6.

Stormzy will be appearing at Virgin V Festival this year, with tickets on sale since this morning, as well as playing in many other fields over the summer. He’ll also be headlining a number of venues across the UK throughout April.
