Can UK nightlife be saved? Watch the live debate!
The closure of iconic UK club Fabric in August, swiftly followed by a revoking of its licence in September shocked many UK club and venue owners.
Feeling at crisis point, we’ve seen Music Venue Trust launch their #FIGHTBACK campaign (read more here) and today, Fabric are reopening it’s doors to host a debate on the topic: ‘Can Nightlife Be Saved?’ TODAY (20 Sept 2016).
The discussion will be moderated by Gabriel Szatan from Boiler Room, who will also live stream the event from 2:30pm to 5:00pm today. Joining Szatan will be Fabric’s local MP Emily Thornberry, Amsterdam’s Night Mayor Mirik Milan, producers Goldie and Artwork, Bloc Festival’s Alex Benson, Dan Beaumont from Dance Runnel and Fabric co-founder Cameron Leslie.

The council claimed that Fabric needed to close because “a culture of drugs exists at the club which management cannot control.” In their defense, the club since accused the authorities of colluding “an entirely premeditated exercise to find the evidence required to be able to serve a summary review”, and sparked outrage across club and music audiences.
