ELO broke BBC viewing records alongside Adele and Coldplay

Adele, Coldplay and Jeff Lynne’s ELO broke viewing records for the BBC this weekend.

Of the 18.7 million viewers who tuned in across the Glastonbury weekend, 2.4 million were solely watching Jeff Lynne’s ELO dominate the Sunday’s ‘legend’ slot; pulling in almost one million more viewers than Lionel Richie in 2015.

According to the figures published by Music Week, Adele’s Saturday headline set saw a spike of 3.7 million viewers, which makes it the most watched Saturday headline set since 2008.

Coldplay saw much of the same success, with 3.4 million BBC viewers watching them close the festival on Sunday night.

Jeff Lynne’s ELO have since announced a one-off headline date at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 24 June 2017.

Tickets for Jeff Lynne’s ELO at Wembley Stadium go on general sale at 09:00 on Friday 1 July 2016 via Ticketmaster.co.uk. Fans can also gain access to the O2 presale from 09:00 on Wednesday 29 June and via the Live Nation presale from 09:00 on Thursday 30 June 2016.
