Film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House adds new Spotlight title

Film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House just got even bigger!

A new addition to the Film4 Summer Screen programme is Summer Screen Spotlight and this year’s film is the UK premiere of The Second Mother, a wonderful film from Brazil.

“Our new Spotlight night is a chance for adventurous film fans to come together and share the thrill of discovery at Somerset House. The Second Mother is perfect for the new slot and the sociable setting, a film full of surprises that generates real warmth as its story unfolds,” said David Cox, Curator of Film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House.

Winner of the Panorama Audience Award in Berlin and the World Cinema Jury Award for Acting at Sundance, this film comes with high accolades from international film festival audiences.

The global journey continues with Werner Herzog’s 1972 cult classic Aguirre, Wrath of God set in the Peruvian jungle and Studio Ghiblii’s adventure fantasy Princess Mononoki. Other highlights include opening night premiere Gemma Bovery, staring Gemma Arterton in a French dark comedy, Spike Lee’s New York sizzler Do the Right Thing and Audrey Hepburn’s romantic Italian fairytale, Roman Holiday.
