Here’s how Flickerama launched at Cannes 2015

Love film and the great British outdoors? Then you’ll LOVE Flickerama.

The summer festival has film at its heart, taking place in the gorgeous grounds of Great Tew in Oxfordshire between 14 – 16 August.

We have Tom Lawes, film director and owner of The Electric in Birmingham – Britain’s oldest working cinema – to thank for launching Flickerama.

Having worked in the film industry for over twenty years, I have seen a real growing trend for outdoor event cinema,” Tom says. “And these often seem to be one-off events around a single film.

“Flickerama takes this idea to the next level, by creating a film festival that’s an actual festival – screening a three day programme of fantastic films with the added attractions of themed events, workshops and lots of delicious eating and drinking facilities on site.  Plus plenty of room for camping and lazing around while taking in the views!”

Adding simply, “Flickerama will be an event for film lovers where everything is in one place, in a beautiful environment.”
