Michael McIntyre wins Entertainment Performance BAFTA

Comedian Michael McIntyre has won the British Academy Television Award for Best Entertainment Performance.

Stand-up comedian and presenter Michael McIntyre has walked away with the BAFTA for Best Entertainment Performance, beating the likes of Adam Hills, Claudia Winkleman, and Graham Norton.

The accolade arrives as McIntyre prepares for his 2018 world tour, which kicks off in the UK on the 2 March 2018 in Plymouth. It then takes him to the likes of Australia, South Africa, America, Canada, mainland Europe and more.

He was honoured at London’s Royal Festival Hall in a ceremony hosted by former Great British Bake Off presenter Sue Perkins.

The evening saw huge wins by the BBC’s Happy Valley, as well as for the harrowing true tale of Damilola Taylor, Damilola, Our Loved Boy.

The biggest surprise of the evening saw Netflix drama The Crown fail to take home any awards, despite being nominated in five major categories.

McIntyre beat Hills of The Last Leg, Winkleman for Strictly Come Dancing, and Graham Norton for his regular BBC show.
