One Direction ‘to split up in March’ (without touring fifth album)

One Direction are ‘to split up in March’, according to reports.

In news that is sure to send the Internet in to total meltdown, The Sun has revealed that 1D – Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan – have decided to part ways to focus on solo ventures following the release of their fifth album.

It’s also reported that the now four-piece – following the departure of Zayn Malik earlier this year – won’t tour their latest record.

The report states that One Direction will disband for at least a year following a meeting in London last weekend.

“They fully deserve to have at least a year to work on their own projects,” a source told the tabloid newspaper. “There is absolutely no bad blood between them and they are all 100% behind the decision.”

Adding: “It is definitely not a split and they fully intend to get back together at some time in the future. But for now it is the end and they go out on top as the world’s most popular music act.”

So a hiatus, eh?

If the reports are true (yet to be confirmed by the band at time of publishing), this September’s On The Road Again tour may be one of the last chances to catch 1D live in the UK for some time. Sob.

So, how do we all feel? Let’s talk it all out over at @TicketmasterUK.
