School of Rock announces national open auditions

The open auditions will be finding kids to star in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock.

Auditions will be held across the UK to find children to join the School of Rock cast. The production is based on the 2003 film, following deadbeat rockstar Dewey Finn as he tricks his way to becoming a substitute teacher in order to pay the bills. Rather than sticking to the curriculum, Dewey ends up forming a rock band with his class.

Here are those audition dates and locations:

25 March – Cardiff
23 & 25 May – London
10 June – Sheffield
15 July – Birmingham
23 September – Liverpool
20 & 22 November – London

Entrants must be between 8 and 12 years old, and under 5 feet. To find out more, head here.

School of Rock has also been nominated for three Olivier Awards; Best New Musical, Outstanding Achievement in Music and Best Actor in a Musical (David Fynn). Find out more here.
