Ticketmaster Blog Awards 2014 winners announced

The winners of our first ever Ticketmaster Blog Awards were announced last night.

The new awards have been created to recognise the best blogs and digital publications across live entertainment – from music and sport, to theatre. A total of 35 blogs were nominated across seven categories which were then put to the public vote. Over a six week period, Ticketmaster received almost 10,000 votes.

Simon Presswell, Managing Director, Ticketmaster UK, said: “In recent years independent blogs and online publications have taken greater prominence in the entertainment industry, drawing readers away from traditional print media, and now play a vital role in the live entertainment industry.

“As part of our commitment to celebrating this industry, we want to put the spotlight on those that are writing about and celebrating live events for fans across the country.”

Hosted by TV Presenter and Xfm DJ Phil Clifton, the awards were held in Ticketmaster’s very own office event space in London, The Imperial, and were attended by over 100 guests including bloggers (some travelling as far as Edinburgh and York), musicians (including Hounds, Killa Kela, Them & Us, Jakil), record label execs, media, PR and marketing professionals.

Entertainment was in the form of an acoustic and DJ set from rock group The Howling, and the winners were presented with an award on stage by Simon Presswell.

The winners of the Ticketmaster Blog Awards 014 are:

  • Best Indie & Alternative Blog – The 405

  • Best Pop & Urban Blog – The Music Fix
