Prepare to be Horrors-struck! You’ll enjoy a gloriously macabre blend of psychedelic, garage and goth rock from this Southend-on-Sea band. The Horrors released their fifth album, V, last month and now they’re out on tour supporting it. Hear them play their spine-chilling new songs Machine and Something to Remember Me By live.
W.A.S.P.

One of the most influential metal bands around, W.A.S.P. are heading to the UK next week. They’ll be commemorating the 25th anniversary of their timeless album The Crimson Idol by performing it in full along with their hits. Led by none other than Blackie Lawless, expect a night full of wild music and shock rock antics.

Steel yourself, these shows will be the stuff of nightmares!

The Phantom of the Opera

The Phantom of the Opera has been playing in the West End for 31 years. When it comes to madmen on the loose, it’s hard to beat the ruthless, delusional Phantom. With Andrew Lloyd Webber’s haunting score and scenery that transports you to a misty underground lake beneath a Paris opera house, you’ll find yourself immersed in this tragic love story. A word of caution: be careful of falling objects.
The Toxic Avenger

Thanks to an unforeseen swim in vat of toxic waste, Melvin Ferd the Third becomes The Toxic Avenger. And you’ve never seen a superhero like Toxie! All green and gloppy, with one eyeball bulging out of its socket, he’s a fright for sore eyes – especially when he goes up against corrupt government officials. Along with a huge gross-out factor (warning: limbs go flying), this cult rock musical boasts a huge heart.

If you want to see witches, this is the place to go. Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire that uses L. Frank Baum’s characters from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz as a springboard, Wicked tells the story of an unlikely friendship between two sorcery students – green-skinned Elphaba and spoiled Galinda, who later become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch. Come enter their world this Halloween, which is packed with talking animals, Munchkins and all forms of wizardry!

Young Frankenstein

Our Halloween Guide wouldn’t be complete without a Frankenstein mention. Recently opened (you can read our review here), Young Frankenstein is a classic monster musical by one of Hollywood’s funniest filmmakers, Mel Brooks. Cheer on Frederick, the grandson of Victor Frankenstein, as he steals a corpse and tries to bring it back to life. Aided by a hunchback henchman, along with a book written by his gramps called How I Did It, this madcap experiment has monstrous consequences!
