We break down some of the WWE NXT official themes

Music and wrestling go together like The Rock and cooking. We delve inside the official themes of WWE NXT as the show prepares to reach the UK.

Renowned for its electrifying atmosphere, music plays a vital role in the world of WWE. Over the years, wrestlers have teamed up with the likes of heavy metal pioneer and sadly departed Motorhead ace himself, Lemmy, as well as Killswitch Engage and Rob Zombie. And that’s just the start.

With NXT offering the best in new wrestling talent, it also pairs its huge roster with some seriously rousing music. Their theme songs are often just as recognisable as the wrestlers themselves.

As NXT prepares to return to UK shores for a live tour and a stop-off at the home of heavy music, Download 2017, we’ve taken the opportunity to delve into the official theme songs. Here’s what we made of a handful of the tracks.

Roar Of The Crowd
This one doesn’t belong to any one wrestler, instead it’s the official theme for all of NXT. Roar Of The Crowd was written and produced by CFO$, who have been working with the WWE since 2011. Coming in at a minute and a half, it’s a rhythmic, fists in the air rock anthem. It’s catchy as hell too.

The Rising Sun
This one’s a bit of a curveball for the WWE in general. Swapping the guitar for a stylised violin, it’s got more of an electronic feel than the crushing rock that underpins most of the themes. If anything though, it represents the quickly nature of wrestling that attracts millions of its fans.

Chrome Hearts
The official theme for Gargano and Ciampa is all about the classic rock guitar. It’s basically one big guitar solo, and who doesn’t love that? It’s all about high energy.

Tokiwakita (Time Has Come)
East meets west as Hideo Itami enters the ring, with Tokiwakita jumping from the traditional to a doom thud perfect for head-banging. This one’s definitely quite ominous. Itami clearly means business.

Glorious Domination
It’s a fan favourite. Bobby Roode enters the ring to the huge sounding Glorious Domination, that quickly switches from brilliant cheese to guitar mastery. We’re tempted to set this one as our morning alarm and wake each day ready to take on the world. Seriously. It’s got just the right amount of arrogance too.

The Future
Asuka’s official theme has a massive psychedelic feel with a modern twist. It sounds genuinely dangerous. If this track was a wrestler, you definitely wouldn’t want to mess with it.

Pain
There’s a slight dubstep twist to the otherwise brutally heavy Pain, the appropriately titled official theme for Authors Of Pain. It’s like the the seedy underbelly nightclub down the backstreet of a city; filthy, heavy and exhilarating.
