Annie makes its long-awaited return to London with Miranda Hart – and we’ve got a presale

The world’s favourite family musical, Annie, is returning to London from May 2017, when it takes over the Piccadilly Theatre in the capital’s West End.

Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, the classic story follows orphan Annie, who is forced to face a life of misery at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage.

Her luck changes though when she’s chosen to spend a fairy tale Christmas with famous billionaire Oliver Warbucks; although, the spiteful Miss Hannigan has other ideas and soon hatches a plan to spoil Annie’s search for her true family.

In this thrilling new production, the tyrannical Miss Hannigan will be played by award-winning comedian Miranda Hart, who makes her West End debut in the role.

Featuring unforgettable songs such as It’s A Hard-Knock Life, Easy Street and Tomorrow, Annie was first seen on Broadway in 1977, and went on to win seven Tony Awards. Since then, the show has become a staple of the great American songbook, with a score that transcends the original show.

The new production will arrive at the Piccadilly Theatre this May, and Miranda Hart will appear until 17 September.
