Updated: BBC Radio share two brand new David Bowie tracks from Lazarus Soundtrack

Lazarus opens at Kings Cross Theatre next week and BBC Radio 6 and BBC Radio 2 have shared two new Bowie songs from its soundtrack.

When I Met You and No Plan were shared earlier on today by two BBC radio stations in anticipation of next week’s opening performances and the 21 October release of the musical’s soundtrack. Lazarus will also feature songs from Bowie last album Blackstar, which was released 8 January this year – two days before the music icon died.

Columbia Records have now also released David Bowie’s final track Killing A Little Time, also featured on the musical soundtrack. The song is an eerie mix of crashing cymbals, fuzzy guitars and jazz-infused brass.

Inspired by the novel The Man Who Fell To Earth, Lazarus focuses on Thomas Newton, as he remains still on Earth – a “man” unable to die, his head soaked in cheap gin and haunted by a past love.

The musical then follows Newton during the course of several days, where the arrival of another lost soul might set him finally free.

Written by the late and great David Bowie and Enda Walsh, Lazarus is a must-see this winter for all musical fans.
