It’s been a year since Disney’s Aladdin reached the West End, having made its way over from Broadway.

The musical features all the songs from the classic Academy Award®-winning film including Friend Like Me, A Whole New World and Arabian Nights, plus some added surprises.

There are also many fascinating facts lying beneath the spectacular production, not least a link between the set and Star Wars’ lovable C-3PO, or the vast number of costumes on display throughout.

We recently caught up with Matthew Croke, who is taking on the title-role in the West End production.

It marks Croke’s debut in the West End, having previously starred in Annie Get Your Gun (Crucible Theatre), Singin’ in the Rain (UK tour), Funny Girl (Menier Chocolate Factory), Shall We Dance (Sadler’s Wells), A Chorus Line (Crucible Theatre) and West Side Story (UK & Ireland tour).
