Fives things you need to know about School of Rock The Musical

School of Rock The Musical is coming to London’s West End this October.

That’s right, an entire show-stopping performance based on the hit movie starring Jack Black is coming to the New London Theatre.

So. Exciting.

Here are five things you need to know about School of Rock The Musical before it arrives in the capital…

1. Andrew Lloyd Webber is involved

The legendary composer and all-round English theatre genius has joined forces with Julian Fellowes (book) and Glenn Slater (lyrics) to bring this brilliant story to life on stage.

2. It’s got all the heartfelt passion of the film

We’ve yet to meet anyone who didn’t find themselves hopelessly hooked on the Richard Linklaster-directed film and the musical production has been having much the same reaction on Broadway.

3. Jack Black’s charm lives on

We all know Dewey Finn as the funny, failed, wannabe rockstar who falls into posing as a supply teacher in a bid to earn some extra cash. Jack Black was simply superb in the movie and some will probably be wondering how it’ll work on stage. Trust us when we say the musical’s lead has all the charisma, charm and raw rock talent of his predecessor.

4. It’s jam-packed with fresh talent

The likes of Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate and Billy Elliot are just some of the shows that’ve put their young stars under the spotlight, and School of Rock is set to follow suit. Once these straight-A pupils get a taste for rock stardom, there’s simply no stopping them.

5. You can get tickets here first

We’re so excited for this production’s West End arrival that we’re the first to get tickets. Bag the best seats at School of Rock The Musical before anyone else with the exclusive Ticketmaster presale.
