Letters Live returns to London’s Freemasons’ Hall this October

Following another sell-out run earlier this year, Letters Live will return to London’s Freemasons’ Hall this October.

The week-long programme will welcome more stars from the worlds of stage and screen to take part in the unique event in the capital.

Speaking of the forthcoming run, Benedict Cumberbatch said: “Letters Live is a truly unique experience that allows people from all ages and all walks of life to experience a moment of time in someone else’s life for a brief moment.

“Hearing their letters read aloud in such a magical setting allows us to share the happiness, sadness, excitement, and pain of that moment together. I can’t wait to see what letters are discovered for October 2016!”

Jamie Byng, CEO of Canongate Books and a Director of Letters Live, added, “Watching Letters Live evolve from the first event at the Tabernacle in December 2013 into such a popular and acclaimed series of shows has been enormously gratifying.

“It’s a testament to the enduring power of the letter, harnessed through outstanding performance, and I think a clear reminder of the value and appeal of the letter in a digital age.”

The line-ups for Letters Live shows always remain a closely guarded secret but over its life an impressive list of stars have taken part including Benedict Cumberbatch, Maureen Lipman, Jude Law, Toby Jones, Olivia Colman, Oscar Isaacs, Carey Mulligan, Ian McKellen, Rob Brydon, Sophie Hunter, Stephen Fry, Kylie Minoque, Russell Brand, Caitlin Moran, Tom Odell and LOADS more.

Tickets for Letters Live 2016 go on general sale at 09:00 tomorrow (Friday 22 July) via Ticketmaster.co.uk.
