Sneak peek of Murder Ballad – London’s hot new musical

Murder Ballad opens next week with some of the biggest names in musical theatre. Kerry Ellis and Ramin Karimloo head the cast, and Murder Ballad looks set to be the West End’s next big hit!

Never before performed in the UK, Murder Ballad is the story of a treacherous love triangle – think lies and deceit with a pinch of your bluesy, rock opera-ness to boot. The epic new musical is so original that it was first performed in a bar when it opened Off-Broadway in New York in 2012.

The story follows Sara, Tom and Michael – three New Yorkers caught in a secret love triangle that could tear their lives apart. Life has not dealt any of them the cards they wanted, and Sara is stuck in the middle, torn between her downtown past and her uptown future. Is the one that got away really worth risking everything for?

In the true tradition of all great murder ballads, when songs of love-gone-wrong are sung, blood must be spilled. The question is… by whom?

Murder Ballad looks like it’s going to be great, so can imagine our delight when the company invited us down to their rehearsal space to listen to some of the songs they’ve been working on… and let us live stream a whole track for you guys, too. Missed it? Don’t panic, we’ve put it all in one place for you to enjoy (and that’s right here):
