What’s up Wilma?

Hello dears. It’s been a cold week here in London but the joy of theatre has been keeping me warm!

One night with Reg
My Night With Reg is transferring from the Donmar Warehouse to the Apollo Theatre from 17 January 2015. Urinetown is currently playing at the Apollo and will close on 10 January, a couple of weeks earlier than planned. If you haven’t seen it go and check it out because it really is brilliant. Another show that has announced a transfer this week is the Young Vic’s production of A View From The Bridge. The show will open at the Wyndhams Theatre on 16 February for a limited eight week run.

Dirty rotten guys like us
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels has announced this week that it will tour the UK next year starting in Birmingham in May 2015. The show will then make stops in Manchester, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Torquay, Oxford, Stoke on Trent, Glasgow and Sunderland. Alex Gaumond started performances in the West End version of the show last week, replacing Rufus Hound. The show is currently booking at the Savoy Theatre until March and also stars Robert Lindsay, Bonnie Langford and Gary Wilmot. I’m going to see the new cast on Wednesday so I’ll let you know all about it next week!

Bialystok and Bloom for Manford and Spence
Louie Spence will star along Jason Manford in the UK tour of The Producers which kicks off at the Churchill Theatre Bromley on 6 March 2015 play the flamboyant assistant Carmen Ghia.

It’ll be all right on the night.
The Play That Goes Wrong has celebrated news of its extended booking period by announcing a monthly improvised show starting on 1 December. The company’s improvisational skills have been delighting the Edinburgh Festival for the past 5 years and now once a month London audiences will be treated to this show as well.

‘Tis the season
I went to see White Christmas last week, which has now opened at the Dominion Theatre for a limited Christmas run. If you’re hoping for snow this Christmas then I suggest you get a ticket to see this show as it might be the closest you get! It’s a lovely festive show and Coronation Street’s Wendi Peters steals the show with great acting and vocals too.

Last chance broadway
Forbidden Broadway closes this weekend at the Vaudeville Theatre. The regular off-Broadway show has been performed many times in London but the great thing this show never gets old. As a musical theatre review it parodies shows on in the west end and the scenes are constantly updated to reflect what is happening.

That’s me done for this week Dears. I’m off to put the heating on! Have a lovely week and stay warm.
