The Comedy Store announces regional residencies

The influential comedy club spreads outside of London and Manchester.

London and Manchester based The Comedy Store has announced a string of regional residencies, seeing it bring laughs to Melton Mowbray, Colchester, Maidstone, Chester and Hertford from the end of September 2018 until March 2019.

“The Comedy Store are delighted to be delivering laughs to new audiences in Maidstone, Chester, Melton Mowbray, Colchester and Hertford,” comedy veteran and founder of The Comedy Store Don Ward says. “We are excited to expand our brand across the U.K. and look forward to showcasing the best in emerging UK and International stand-up talent to new venues across the U.K. Renowned as the breeding ground for new talent, the likes of Eddie Izzard, John Bishop Jimmy Carr, Rhod Gilbert and Sarah Millican all began their careers at The Comedy Store and have since gone on to become household names.”

The residencies will see The Comedy Store take to each location monthly, celebrating its forty years of experience.

The Comedy Store opened in 1979, launching the careers for some of today’s biggest names. The likes of Paul Merton, Ben Elton, Rik Mayall, and French and Saunders have been supported by the iconic venues throughout their time in comedy.

Beginning its life in London, The Comedy Store now has a well established sister venues in Manchester.
