Comedian Kevin Bridges has been crowned the UK’s favourite live act of 2018, following a poll of Ticketmaster fans.

The comedian, who is currently rounding up his year on The Brand New Tour, topped the Ticket Of The Year survey which also celebrates the West End production of Hamilton in second place (the UK’s favourite theatre event), Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift’s respective shows at London’s Wembley Stadium in third and fourth, and Sheeran’s performance at Hampden Park National Stadium in fifth.

It marks the first time that a comedian has taken home the honour, with the accolade given for his appearance at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow.

“Thank you to everybody who came out to see me live this year and a very special thank you to those who went as far as voting for me as their favourite show of the year,” Kevin says. “It’s been a while since the result of a vote has made me happy. You have restored my faith in democracy. Thank you all and see you another time.”

Looking into 2019, fans have declared P!nk’s forthcoming stadium tour as their most anticipated event of the year, followed closely by the return of Spice Girls.

Muse, Fleetwood Mac and Take That round off the top five.

“What an honor from my beautiful UK fans,” P!nk enthuses. “A HUGE thank you to everyone that voted for the Beautiful Trauma tour as the Ticketmaster Most Anticipated Event for 2019. It’s been nearly five years since I’ve toured the UK – I can’t wait to get back and party with all of you.”

The tour is set to take in six shows next year, including two nights at Wembley Stadium.

Earlier this month Spice Girls broke Ticketmaster’s sales record, preparing to return for their June 2019 headline shows.

BTS are declared the overall winners of Ticket Of The Year globally, topping twelve months which has seen them become the first Korean act to surpass one billion streams on Apple Music. Their film, Burn The Stage: The Movie broke the record set by One Direction with 1.4 million admissions since release.
