The funniest fundraiser in London is coming back to the Eventim Apollo on 16 November 2018.

Launched in 2012, ZSL’s Roar for Laughter brings together some hilarious people who are also very charitable with their time – all to benefit wildlife conservation.

Organisers have now revealed that British institution Jennifer Saunders and iconic comedian Christopher Biggins will join host Harriet Thorpe.

The bill will also welcome the newly announced Nish Kumar, who joins Rob Deering, Mo Gilligan, La Voix and Lost Voice Guy.

“ZSL’s Roar with Laughter promises to be a night of hilarity, with these brilliant comedians helping us to raise a laugh for a good cause,” said James Wren, Director of Fundraising for ZSL. “We’re certain we’ll hear more than a few snorts, howls and roars on the night.”

Saunders found fame alongside fellow comedian Dawn French, going on to star in the hit series Absolutely Fabulous. Biggins cemented his status as a household name by winning the 2007 series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here. His career includes extensive theatre and film work, as well as hosting the annual West End Live event in Leicester Square.

The pair will be joined on hosting duties by fellow Ab Fab star Harriet Thorpe. She also has a lengthy list of West End credits to her name, like recently starring in the black comedy Ruthless! The Musical.

Newly announced comedian Nish Kumar recently teamed up with Joel Dommett for a Netflix travel series, as well as being a well-established touring stand up. He also hosts a number of TV and radio shows.

Deering’s quirky style – as a guitar-wielding, loop-layering stand-up – has made him a favourite on the comedy circuit. You may have seen him on television where he won Celebrity Mastermind and appeared in a comedians’ special of The Weakest Link.

One of comedy’s brightest up-and-coming stars, Gilligan (aka Mo the Comedian) will appear at ZSL’s Roar for Laughter. His latest show, Coupla Cans, has received so many rave reviews across the country that he’s bringing it to London’s Vaudeville Theatre for a residency at the end of October.

Adding a touch of glamour to the event is La Voix, who combines incredible vocals and magnificent gowns with her trademark quips to celebrate the anthems of Cher, Liza Minelli, Judy Garland and other legendary divas.

Britain’s Got Talent winner Lost Voice Guy (real name is Lee Ridley) is the first British comedian to use a voice synthesiser in his act. Don’t miss the chance to catch his unique brand of stand-up before he heads out on a huge tour in spring 2019.

Hosted by the international conservation charity ZSL (Zoological Society of London), profits from Roar with Laughter fund the organisation’s diverse wildlife work in more than 50 countries. From protecting tigers to successfully reintroducing the scimitar-horned oryx to the wild, this night of stand-up will have you in stitches while benefitting a fantastic cause that is making a difference in the world.
