Minimasters go ice-skating at the Natural History Museum

To celebrate the opening of the Natural History Museum’s festive ice rink, we sent a bunch of Minimasters down for a session on the ice.

As the winter nights draw in and the season for mulled wine, Secret Santas and time with family comes up on us, the Natural History Museum’s main courtyard has once again been transformed into a festive ice rink.

It’s the perfect treat for families, who can skate throughout the day and well into the night, so Minimaster Madison, 6, told us what she made of the trip:

Madison’s review:

“I was excited to take my friend and my mum to the ice skating rink. I kept on falling over because I was so enthusiastic, but it was still great fun.

“It was really pretty at Natural History Museum with the twinkly lights on the Christmas tree, and even though it was rainy (and we thought we wouldn’t be able to go out on the ice) we managed to enjoy a session nonetheless when the rain stopped!

“We skated for 50 minutes and mummy hired me a penguin to help with my skating; if you have a little child you should definitely get them a penguin because it was really slippery on the ice!

“The skates were comfy and the people who worked there were very helpful. When we got off the ice we were all very cold so we went up to the café and had some yummy hot chocolate with marshmallows to warm up – and I had a hotdog!

“It came out super quick, which was great because I was starving.

“We had a great time, Thanks Minimaster!”
