Minimasters meet Monski Mouse: why toddle when you can dance?

Monski Mouse’s Baby Disco Dance Hall is taking over the London Wonderground throughout the summer, so we sent Minimasters Mekai, Amira and Sophia to find out exactly what it’s all about.

Housed inside the London Wonderground’s impressive Spiegeltent, Monski Mouse’s Baby Disco Dance Hall transports parents and children to a world of music, where inhibitions are left firmly at the door and revellers are invited to dance the hour away.

Through a series of free-form and action-led numbers, Monski Mouse – standing on a stage behind her trusty decks – encourages parents and under-fives to let themselves loose on the dance floor. Aided by two dancers, Monski transforms the Spiegeltent into a dance crazy party, where parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends and family blissfully come together under the sound of some classic tunes, easy-to-learn dance moves and a celebration of the power of music.

Before the Baby Disco kicked off in earnest though, our Minimasters got to chat with Monski on camera about what they could expect from the event (lots of fun, lots of dancing!) and how she got came up with the idea for the Baby Disco in the first place (having kids of her own made it difficult to carry on DJing through the night).

Mekai, Amira and Sophia were also able to join in with Monksi and her dancers for a private warm-up lesson, shaking their bodies loose, reaching to the skies and touching their toes before all the other families poured into the Spiegeltent to join in the fun.

Our Minimasters sure had a brilliant time dancing away the afternoon with tonnes of other kids in the fun environment Monski Mouse manages to create; it’s a full-on disco atmosphere, with loads of space to run around and bust a groove, great lighting to help set the mood, and Monski in proper, professional DJ mood.

But don’t worry, there’s also room to grab a seat (and a well-earned break when all the dancing gets too much) if you’d prefer to watch, plus a dedicated area for very young children to relax on soft blankets and rugs as the party swirls around them.

We’ve not doubt Mekai, Amira and Sophia will be back for more before the summer is out!
