It’s been a long wait for UK fans – after announcing a run of international shows and headlining Scotland’s TRNSMT Festival, the Arctic Monkeys have finally revealed details of not only their first new music in five years but a run of shows to support the new record.

Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino is set for release on 11 May 2018 and the track listing is having fans even more excited (who wouldn’t want to listen to a song called The World’s First Ever Monster Truck Front Flip?!).

The follow up to 2013’s AM was co-produced by James Ford and frontman Alex Turner. Recorded in LA, Paris and London, the 11-track release will be out just a week after the band kick off their live shows at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino is rumoured to feature a star-studded collaborator list including Tame Impala.

The tour will see the Sheffield rock outfit head to Manchester, London, Birmingham, Sheffield and Newcastle in September (full dates below). Support is set to come from The Lemon Twigs.

Arctic Monkey’s debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s Not What I Am reached No. 1 in the UK charts, became the UK’s fastest-selling debut and was named one of Rolling Stone‘s top 30 albums of all time. Having won a Mercury Prize and headlined Glastonbury twice, Alex Turner and his band decided it was “the perfect place to leave things for a while” after their 2013 release AM which cemented the band’s place in indie rock history.
