Line-up announced for BBC Proms in the Park 2019

The thrilling Last Night of the Proms returns to Hyde Park this September.

Britain’s largest outdoor classical musical event of the year Proms in the Park has announced its first artists for this year’s line-up.

Hosted by BBC Radio 2 favourite and West End superstar Michael Ball, this year’s event will be headlined by Barry Manilow.

Other artists confirmed today include The Pretenders’ founder Chrissie Hynde, singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti, soul singer Gabrielle and soprano Aida Garifullina.

In addition to the solo artists performing, there will also be an appearance from London ’90s pop duo Lighthouse Family.

Grammy Award-winning Barry Manilow is known for hits such as Copacabana, Mandy and Can’t Smile Without You. The singer has released 47 top 40 singles over a career spanning over five decades.

Commenting on his headline performance, Manilow says, “I am so excited to be coming back to London’s Hyde Park for Proms in the Park in September! I always love performing with the BBC Concert Orchestra, so I know we’re all in for a wonderful time.”

The huge celebration will take place in Hyde Park on Saturday 14 September 2019 and will see the traditional Last Night anthems performed by Proms in the Park favourites the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Richard Balcombe.

40,000 voices will join them for the mass sing-along as the evening brings two months of incredible live music to a close.
