Britain’s original teen rock idol will salute legendary band leader Glenn Miller in a musical celebration.
London’s biggest blues festival returns this October with legendary Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison and former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant and The Sensational Shifters just announced. They’ll be joining headliners John Fogerty and Steve Miller Band at the O2. Both artists will perform a full set the arena on 26 October 2018.
Robert Plant has previously taken the stage for BluesFest as part of Bill Wyman’s 80th birthday show in 2016 and this time he’ll bring his backing band The Sensational Shifters to perform classic Led Zepplin material as well as tracks off his critically acclaimed solo projects. Van Morrison will return to the festival once again to perform a career-spanning set and songs off his latest album You’re Driving Me Crazy.
Robert Plant noted: “It’s been way over 50 years since I first shared the stage with Van Morrison; and his band were positioned no.2 on the charts with ‘Here Comes the Night’. His style then and now remains unique and loaded with deep soul. I’m looking forward to an exciting and dynamic night.”
The two blues legends will play alongside John Fogerty who is set to perform a Credence Clearwater Revival set, and Steve Miller Band who play their first London show in six years. This stellar lineup will promise to make 2018’s Blues Fest one of the best ones yet.
