Charli XCX announces London headline show

She will be performing at Village Underground in June with A.G. Cook.

Charli XCX and A.G. Cook have announced a one off show a London’s Village Underground on Tuesday 19 June 2018.

The show is in support of Charli XCX’s fourth mixtape, Pop 2, which was released in December 2017 under Atlantic Records.

She had recruited a lot of artists to feature on this new record, including the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen, MØ, Cupcakke. The first song released from the album, Out of My Head, also features both Swedish singer Tove Lo and Finnish singer Alma.

Her breakthrough to the music industry came with I Love It, a song she co-wrote and contributed vocals with for Swedish pop duo, Icona Pop in 2012. Two years later, she was featured on Iggy Azelea’s single, Fancy, which went to number 5 in the UK charts.

She then went on to write Boom Clap for The Fault in Our Stars soundtrack which peaked at number 6 in the UK charts, her first top-ten single as a lead artist. Her second top ten single was a collaboration with fellow Brit Rita Ora called Doing It.

As well as being a huge pop star, she has also directed her own music video, Boys, which features a celebrity cameos from Joe Jonas to Brendon Urie, The Vamps to producer Mark Ronson, and more.

The pop star is known for her eccentric fashion taste which you can see on the red carpet and in many of her music videos.

The headline show announcement comes as Charli XCX prepares to support Taylor Swift on her reputation Stadium tour along with Camila Cabello in the UK. Find out more about that tour here.
