The Welsh comedian opens up about his first tour in seven years.
Rising star Clairo has announced headline UK dates, shortly before taking to Reading and Leeds Festival at the end of the month.
Following her festival appearance, she’ll continue celebrating the release of debut album Immunity with a UK tour in December 2019. The dates kick off in Bristol on 1 December 2019, running through to Glasgow on 8 December 2019 and including a headline performance at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
Clairo will be joined by Dreamer Boy and Laundry Day on all dates.
Having initially experienced fame with the homemade viral video for Pretty Girl back in August 2017 – the YouTube video has over 37 million views at the time of writing – Clario (real name Claire Cottrill) unveiled her debut album at the start of August.
The record features singles Bags, Sofia and Closer To You, and has received acclaim for its contemporary bedroom pop.
Clario began to make music in her bedroom at the age of 13, attracting early attention of MTV, and eventually releasing Pretty Girl as part of the The Le Sigh’s compilation highlighting female and non-binary artists.
Immunity is the result of years of musical experimentation, having self-released music under her full name, the Clairo moniker, and on SoundCloud as DJ Baby Benz.
A more fully formed sound by an artist fully invested in her craft, Immunity is set to propel Clairo onto bigger stages over the coming months.
Here are those UK dates:
1 December 2019 – SWX, Bristol
2 December 2019 – O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London
4 December 2019 – O2 Institute, Birmingham
7 December 2019 – O2 Ritz, Manchester
8 December 2019 – Queen Margaret Union, Glasgow
Tickets for Clairo’s UK dates will be available from 10:00 on Wednesday 14 August 2019 through Ticketmaster.co.uk.
