Echo and the Bunnymen have announced a new UK headline tour, including a stop at London’s Palladium. The news comes as the band kick off their current UK run, and prepare for the release of new album The Stars, The Ocean & The Moon. The album features classic Bunnymen songs transformed, as well as new music with a string accompaniment.

Liverpool based The Bunnymen, led by Ian McCulloch and Will Sergeant, will revisit their greatest tracks, transformed with co-producer Andy Wright, and what they are describing as “strings and things”.

“I’m not doing this for anyone else,” McCulloch says of the record. “I’m doing it because it’s important to me to make the songs better. I have to do it.”

In their lengthy career, Echo and the Bunnymen have celebrated twenty top 20 hits, and nine top 20 albums in the UK. They’ve reached the top 10 with the likes of The Killing Moon, The Cutter and 1997’s Nothing Lasts Forever.

Their albums, from their 1980 debut Crocodiles to 2014’s Meteorites have influenced the likes of Coldplay, The Killers and The Flaming Lips.

Netflix have picked up Echo & The Bunnymen in a number of their original features, including Nocturnal Me in Stranger Things and The Killing Moon in 13 Reasons Why.
