The Finnish singer will bring new material on the road in October 2019.
Due to phenomenal demand, Elton John has added a seventh London date to the upcoming UK leg of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
The newly announced date will see the legend take to the stage at The O2 on Monday 2 December 2020.
Tickets for the newly announced date will be available from 10:00 Friday 5 July 2019 through Ticketmaster.co.uk
Elton John kicked off the European leg of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour in Vienna earlier this year.
Will Hodgkinson of The Times awarded the performance a five-star review saying that: “the pop star is going out with the show of his life.”
The tour comes to the UK in 2020, where Elton will be playing arenas in London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Leeds.
The 2020 UK dates will kick off with three shows at London’s The O2, and culminate with two appearances back at the same venue on the 14 and 16 December 2020.
“The Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour will take us to many places that have meant a lot to me over the last fifty years,” Elton announces, “but these UK shows will be incredibly special. The UK is home, and where my heart will always be. To celebrate some of the incredible moments we’ve shared with my British fans over the years will be wonderful. These homecoming shows will be very emotional, and a lot of fun.”
Elton’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour launched in the United States in September 2018, with a wealth of praise from critics and fans alike.
The full tour will consist of more than 300 shows across five continents, appearing in North America, Europe, Asia, South America and Australasia, and set to reach its end in 2021.
As one of the top selling solo artists of all time, Elton has 38 gold records to his name, with over 50 Top 40 hits. He has sold more than 300 million records worldwide and holds the record for the biggest-selling single of all time, selling over 33 million copies of Candle In The Wind 1997.
He released his debut solo album in 1969, celebrating mainstream success the following year with his sophomore self-titled record.
His many hits, taking him across six decades, include Your Song, Tiny Dancer, I’m Still Standing, Sacrifice, Can You Feel The Love Tonight, Electricity and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
As well as dominating the charts, Elton John has written music for stage and screen, and continues to be a key activist in the fight against HIV/AIDS. He established the leading non-profit HIV/AIDS organisation Elton John AIDS Foundation, raising over $400 million to date.
