A season of Harold Pinter's one-act plays celebrate his legacy.
Glasgow’s summer of 2018 just got a lot hotter as Glasgow Summer Sessions have announced their line-up for this year’s run. None other than indie outfit Kings of Leon, Welsh rock quartet Catfish and the Bottlemen and American rapper Kendrick Lamar are heading up the bill at Bellahouston Park this August.
Also joining them will be The Wombats, Twin Atlantic and N.E.R.D plus DMA’s, Bugzy Malone, Peace and Neon Waltz.
With their appearance at Glasgow Summer Sessions, Kings of Leon continue their path of world domination after having been announced to headline Reading & Leeds Festival this summer as well. In 2013, the band sold out their performance in Glasgow Summer Sessions’ debut year and on 22 August you can see them perform their huge back catalogue including favourites like The Bucket, On Call or Use Somebody as well as new singles WALLS and Waste a Moment, with support from The Wombats.
Taking the stage on 25 August will be Welsh rock four-piece Catfish and the Bottlemen alongside support from Twin Atlantic, DMA’s, PEACE and Neon Waltz. The date marks the latest addition to a very busy festival summer for the quartet as they’ll be playing All Points East, Benicàssim as well as Kendall Calling. Magnetic frontman Van McCann clearly holds a special place for the city and its world-renowned crowds, as demonstrated on their album track Glasgow.
And on 29 August, you’ll be able to catch American rap icon Kendrick Lamar alongside N.E.R.D. and Bugzy Malone. His fourth and latest album DAMN has catapulted him into superstardom in the US rap scene and he’s just recently completed a run of UK arena shows. Kendrick Lamar has collaborated with Rihanna, Dr Dre, Drake, The Weeknd, N.E.R.D and Snoop Dogg to name a few, and this year co-produced the soundtrack for Marvel’s newest and most culturally significant superhero movie Black Panther.
Glasgow Summer Sessions is set to bring some of the biggest and best artists in the world to Bellahouston Park this summer, giving fans a truly unmissable experience to round off their summer. For the first time ever, the festival has expanded to Edinburgh and is set to bring acts including Kasabian, Sir Tom Jones and more to Edinburgh’s Princes Street Gardens.
