Hip-hop heavyweights Wu-Tang Clan, Public Enemy and De La Soul have confirmed they’ll be touring the UK together for the first time.
The Gods Of Rap tour will see the legends take to the stage in London, Manchester and Glasgow in May 2019.
All of the dates will be hosted by DJ Premier.
The tour marks the anniversary of three iconic albums; Wu-Tang Clan’s Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), Public Enemy’s It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back and De La Soul’s 3 Feet High and Rising.
Headliners Wu-Tang Clan changed the landscape of hip-hop 25 years ago with the release of their debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Featuring innovative beats and clever lyrics delivered by the nine-member collective, the record is widely considered to be one of the most influential and important hip-hop releases of the ’90s.
Wu-Tang Clan have since gone on to sell more than 40 million records worldwide and are known for tracks such as C.R.E.A.M, Protect Ya Neck and Gravel Pit.
Public Enemy will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the album It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back at the newly announced shows. The album, which includes the singles Don’t Believe the Hype and Bring the Noise has been hailed as a hip-hop masterpiece and has sold over 1 million copies.
Rounding off the bill will be the widely celebrated trio De La Soul. The New Yorker’s debut album 3 Feet High and Rising catapulted the group to stardom 30 years ago, with tracks such as Me Myself and I and The Magic Number.
