The Great Escape announce first wave of bands
The Great Escape have announced the first wave of bands for 2017, with fifty bands compiling today’s announcement.
Once again scheduled to take place across various venues in Brighton, the event will see some of the newest movers and shakers play between the 18 and 20 May 2017.
Rapidly rising Rag ‘n’ Bone Man is the first artist to be confirmed as a Spotlight Show headliner, for the first year now open to all festival goers on a first-come-first-served basis. All ticket buyers will be asked to register their interest in the individual Sportlight Shows, followed by information on how to grab entry.
The event has also confirmed a deposit scheme, with an initial payment of £30 securing a three-day ticket.
“TGE continues to break the mould and here we come again with the first 50 bands confirmed to play in 2017 that demonstrate what a unique and diverse festival we are,” Great Escape event manager Kevin Moore announces. “We’re truly delighted to welcome Rag’n’Bone back to the event for our first Spotlight Show, it’s going to be an incredible homecoming performance. It’s our mission to give everyone the opportunity to discover their new favourite artist and with the introduction of our festival ticket deposit scheme, as well as the return of our Young Adult tickets for those aged 16 and 17, the festival is more accessible than ever before. Roll on May!”
