Guns N’ Roses named UK’s Ticket of the Year 2017

Ticketmaster poll reveals the country's favourite live events of 2017.

We asked fans to vote for their favourite live events of 2017 and the results are in.

Guns N’ Roses have been named the UK’s Ticket of the Year 2017 following their two London Stadium shows earlier in the year. The rock legends have beaten off competition from U2 who are in second place following their shows at Twickenham Stadium, and Download Festival in third.

The top five is rounded off by the inaugural TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow, and Metallica at The O2.

The results also show that London remains the most popular city for live entertainment in the UK, followed by Glasgow and Manchester.

Globally, Coldplay take the top spot in the Ticket of the Year list with their Head Full of Dreams tour reaching a staggering 5,389,586 fans since it kicked off, becoming the third highest grossing global tour of all time. It marks the second year in the row that Coldplay have been named Global Ticket of the Year.

“Thank you to everyone who voted for us as Ticketmaster Ticket of the Year 2017,” Coldplay respond. “The fact that we’re winning this award for the second year in a row says much more about our fans than it does about us, but we are truly grateful. Over the past two years, we played 114 shows in 76 cities and 31 countries around the world and we loved every minute of it. Thank you to everyone who came to those shows. It goes without saying, the tour would have been nothing without you.”

Ed Sheeran comes in second and Guns N’ Roses third, following votes from fans across the globe.

Looking into 2018, fans are most excited about the return of Foo Fighters, who bring Concrete and Gold to Manchester and London in June 2018. The top five also welcomes Ed Sheeran, P!nk, Taylor Swift and Download Festival, which will see Ticket of the Year UK winners Guns N’ Roses take one of three headline slots.
