Hozier announces UK tour dates

The run includes a five night residency at the London Palladium.

With the release of his new album Wasteland, Baby! around the corner, Hozier has announced a run of 14 headline UK dates, including five nights at the London Palladium.

The tour will kick off on Sunday 15 September 2019 at Birmingham, before ending with the London residency.

The announcement comes as Hozier prepares to unveil his sophomore album, and follow-up to his 2014 self-titled debut, Wasteland, Baby!.

Due for release on 1 March 2019 through Island Records, the record follows the recent release of his Nina Cried Power EP. Hozier most recently unveiled new track Almost (Sweet Music)

With Nina Cried Power featuring the iconic Mavis Staples and Booker T. Jones, the title-track – which also features on Wasteland, Baby! – was featured on Barack Obama’s favourite songs of 2018 playlist.

It was also featured in renowned podcast Song Exploder‘s first episode of 2019.

Hozier is perhaps best known for his five-time platinum 2014 hit Take Me To Church. He followed this up in 2016 with the single Cherry Wine, raising awareness of domestic violence, and another new song Better Love which appeared on the Legend of Tarzan soundtrack. Prior to this, he released two EPs, Take Me To Church in 2013, and From Eden in 2014 respectively.

His debut album has totalled over 2.1 billion streams on Spotify alone, selling over 4.4 million copies across the globe. Follow-up Wasteland, Baby! features eleven new tracks, including singles Nina Cried Power, Movement and Almost (Sweet Music).
