The Last Shadow Puppets’ summer shows are going to be HUGE, here’s why

After eight years, indie’s best side project The Last Shadow Puppets are back on tour in support of their new album. Alex Turner and Miles Kane’s newest jewel Everything You’ve Come To Expect hits the record shops on 1 April – and we’re not fooling you.

The album is the second studio album of the Arctic Monkeys and The Rascals front men after the 2008 release of The Age Of The Understatement which went straight to number one in the UK album charts and was nominated for the Mercury award the same year. In Turner’s words their debut album was hugely influenced by Scott Walker, American-born British singer-songwriter and 1960s pop icon. For the new record, Turner claims it doesn’t show its influences quite as brightly as the first album.

Bad Habits gives us the first peek at the new album – and one thing is clear: the sound has changed but we are loving every second of it. The progress as musicians they have made in the eight years is clearly visible and audible. It’s like nothing is being held back anymore, the sound is bare-naked and we are counting down the days to hear the rest of the album.

2016 is the year all TLSP fans have been waiting for and the summer of this year marks the ultimate live performances we have been longing for, for so many years. Demand to see Alex and Miles live on stage again is so big that the tour keeps growing and growing. While we wait for the new album and the following live dates, we put The Age Of The Understatement on our record players and turn up the volume.

The band have also confirmed some heavy hitting support acts, with Mercury Prize nominee Gaz Coombes joining them on tour and YAK taking to the stand in Manchester, Bournemouth and London.

A few tickets are left for The Last Shadow Puppets dates this summer, and the shows added for their spring tour in Cambridge and Middlesbrough are on sale from Friday 19 February 2016 at 09:00.
