Latitude add more names to 2018 line-up

Latitude 2018 has added more comedy, theatre and spoken word for July.

More dance, theatre and spoken word have been added to the Latitude Festival line-up. The festival will run from the 12 – 15 July 2018 in Henham Park, Suffolk.

The latest additions join the already announced plethora of music, theatre, arts and comedy, to be headlined by Solange, alt-J and The Killers. Comedy will also come from the British national treasure Harry Hill, and Bridget Christie.

Joining the comedy line-up will be comedian and presenter Joel Dommett, who will also take part in the festival’s Modern Love panel. Rachel Parris, star of The Mash Report, and Vault Festival Comedy Award 2017 winner Kat Bond also join the bill.

Monkey & Roy, Diane Chorley, Pecs, Tash & Ellie, Sophie Willan, Eleanor Tiernan also join the bill.

Latitude Festival will welcome legendary BBC Radio 4 show Gardeners’ Question Time (GQT) for the first time. They’ll be bringing their retro camper van to the site, offering pop-up opportunities for fans to ask questions directly to the gardening masters.

The latest additions also include all-male dance company BalletBoyz who will be bringing their Fourteen Days show to Latitude. Acclaimed choreographers such as Craig Revel-Horwood and Christopher Wheeldon were given just fourteen days with world-renowned composers to create new commissions.

New Adventures will be bringing a preview of their new show to Henham Park, alongside a return of Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake.

Phoenix Dance Theatre will deliver the timely Windrush: Movement Of The People.

Marking their eleventh year at the festival, Sadler’s Wells return with a new programme of world-class dance. ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company will present Sylvia; a combination of hip-hop, soul and funk telling the story at the heart of the Suffragette movement. Sadler’s Wells will also bring Humanhood, Extended Play and the National Youth Dance Company delivering exciting new shows.

Lost Dog will reveal the real story of Juliet and Romeo, one in which they didn’t die. Crxss Platfxrm offer a new wave of Street Culture, curated by Ivan Blackstock.

Elsewhere, Late Night DJs will take over the Comedy Arena, Rave Karaoke and Massaoke take to the festival, as does London’s biggest indie dance party Buttoned Down Disco.

Guilty Pleasures returns with The She Street Band, an all-girl Bruce Springsteen tribute, while The Disco Shed will offer al fresco dancing late into the night.

There will also be a cutting-edge programme including Gate Theatre and English National Opera present Effigies of Wickedness, a collection of riotous songs banned by the Nazis in the 1930s.

Award winning writers, poets, podcasters and authors will take to the festival’s SpeakEasy, including John Cooper Clarke, Patrick Barkham, Travis Alabanza, Mark Grist, Daniel Piper and more.
