Interview: Michael Ball on UK tour and life on stage

The UK No.1 star kicks off his headline dates in April.

Michael Ball kicks off his UK headline tour in Nottingham on 20 April 2019, running across England, Scotland and Wales and including two nights at London’s Palladium.

The shows come in support of Michael’s brand new studio album Coming Home To You , which currently sits at No.1 on the official UK album chart.

Multi-platinum artist Michael Ball first made his name performing in West End and Broadway shows such Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera and the smash hit musical Hairspray. He has been the recipient of the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award twice.

The Worcester born singer released his debut self-titled album in 1992 with the record peaking at No.1 on the Official UK Albums Chart. Since then, the singer has gone onto release six top 10 albums.

In 2016, Michael teamed up with fellow singer Alfie Boe for collaborative album Together. The record, featuring songs such as You’ll Never Walk Alone and When You Wish Upon A Star, peaked at No.1 on the UK chart and has since been certified double platinum. The duo reunited for a follow-up album, Together Again in 2017. The album was just as successful, also reaching the top spot on the UK albums chart.

Aside from music, Ball is also an accomplished broadcaster, frequently appearing on BBC Radio 2 as a stand-in presenter for Alex Bruce.
