The Muppets are coming to London

They'll bring their musical extravaganza to Europe for the first time ever.

The Muppets are coming to London’s O2, appearing across three shows for their first ever trip to Europe. They’ll be performing on Friday 13 July 2018, and a matinee and evening performance on Saturday 14 July.

The show promises musical performances, sketches, celebrity guests and more.

Described as their most sensational, inspirational, celebrational, muppetational, full-length live show, headline duties will be taken by Kermit The Frog leading an all-star cast of pigs, bears and whatevers.

Following the successful trio of sell out shows at the Hollywood Bowl last year, the exclusive European show marks the first time Jim Henson’s The Muppets have ever performed their full live extravaganza outside the USA.

“We’re thrilled to bring this first time ever live performance to all our fans in the UK,” says Kermit, “There’ll be music, comedy, incredible surprises, plus total and complete chaos. In other words: It’s the Muppets! Yaaaay!”

“We’ve wanted to do a show like this for a long time, and now—after finally getting all Miss Piggy’s luggage through customs — we have the chance to appear live at The O2 arena!”

Kermit will be joined by favourites, inspired by the hit 1980s variety TV show, The Muppet Show.

Fans will witness the likes of much-loved characters Miss Piggy, Animal, Fozzie Bear and Great Gonzo, accompanied by the legendary house band Dr Teeth and The Electric Mayhem.

“I can’t wait to be there to entertain, astonish, dazzle and otherwise gobsmack all moi’s fabulous fans,” Miss Piggy announces. “Wear socks, sweetie, cause I’m gonna knock ‘em off. I will amaze everyone with this first-ever live performance….and, of course, for the official renaming of ‘The MOI 2’ arena.”

Celebrating the arrival of The Muppets, The O2 will be rolling out the green carpet for Muppet movies, street food, live music, best costume competitions and more.

There will also be appearances by Sam Eagle, The Swedish Chef, Pepe the King Prawn, Lew Zealand, Rowlf and many more.

Since their creation, The Muppets have had a special relationship with London. The original 1976 TV show was filmed at Elstree Studios, and the gang travelled to the city in their second feature film, The Great Muppet Caper.

Jim Henson’s Creature Shop was based in Hampstead and then Camden until 2005, and their most recent film, Muppets Most Wanted, ends with a heist at the Tower of London.

The globally adored characters will arrive at The O2 on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 July 2018.
