Reading and Leeds Festival 2015 confirm third headliners

The Libertines have been confirmed as the third headliners for Reading and Leeds Festival 2015, joining Metallica and Mumford & Sons.

Peter Doherty, Carl Barât, Gary Powell and John Hassall made their main stage debut in 2003, before returning to the festival in 2004. After reuniting to play Reading and Leeds again in 2010, The Libertines return as headliners five years on.

“I’ve just woken up and I can’t stop thinking about playing Reading and Leeds,” Doherty says in an exclusive video message.

While festival boss, Melvin Benn, said: “What a band to announce as our third headliner. The Libertines are part of the Reading & Leeds family and I can’t wait for the boys to walk on to our main stages in their rightful place at the top of the bill.”

Reading and Leeds Festival takes place 28 – 30 August 2015, tickets are on sale now. Head to Ticketmaster.co.uk/reading-leeds-festival-2015 for more info.
